When the body is in a dehydrated state, it will hold on too much of the water you give it because it is in a traumatic state. It will do what ever it has to do in order to repair itself, even with an inadequate amount of water. The body will find its own means for survival if we are not tending to it in the most efficient manner. I recommend ¾ to 1 Gallon a day to all my female clients, and 1 1/2 to 2 gallons for my male clients. Water is a lubrication system for your body and it is one of the best ways to help your body recover. Many people over eat because they are mistaking thirst for hunger. Once we start to hydrate efficiently we can clearly sense if we are low on water or just hungry. Inadequate water also drops our physical performance by 20 % (both speed and power)
